About

I am a husband, father, learner, and educator. Reading, writing, music, and running are my four biggest passions outside of education. I enjoy autobiographies, biographies, and historical non-fiction books. Additionally, I enjoy reading and writing poetry. In 2007, I completed a long-time goal of running a marathon, when I completed the Detroit Free-Press Marathon. Since then I have completed three other marathons. I am hoping to begin completing more marathons in January 2018.

I have earned an Ed. S. in Curriculum and Instruction from Capella University, an M.A. in Middle Level Education and a B.A. in Theatre/Speech Communication from Siena Heights University. I taught language arts for 14 1/2 years in two alternative education settings and served two years as a school administrator. I worked the last two years with students and teachers, in a K-6 setting, to help students discover and develop their self-awareness. Currently, I am teaching Senior English, Freshman English and Current Events at a rural high school. Additionally, I serve as an adjunct teaching Business Law.
